At the invitation of the Turkmen side, an official visit by the special representative of Chinese President Xi Jinping took place in Ashgabat on December 13. Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Peng Qinghua stayed in the capital of Turkmenistan on December 12-13 to participate in a forum dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, Xinhua reports. During the visit, the special representative presented a congratulatory message from President Xi Jinping to the Turkmen partners. Peng Qinghua met with the Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova and leaders of the country's main political parties, and also participated in people-to-people dialogue events between China and Turkmenistan. At the meetings, the special representative stated China's readiness to work together with Turkmenistan to implement the important agreements reached by the leaders of both countries. He emphasized the desire to strengthen strategic coordination and practical cooperation in all areas for the sake of building a China-Turkmenistan community with a shared future. The Turkmen side expressed gratitude for the congratulatory message addressed to the forum and for sending the special representative, noting that this demonstrates the high priority of bilateral relations for China. Turkmen representatives emphasized the indispensable role of China at key international platforms. Turkmenistan expressed its readiness to use available opportunities to expand mutually beneficial partnership with China, jointly implement four global initiatives, and achieve greater benefits for the people of both countries in the interest of preserving peace on Earth.
