Turkmenistan called for developing common standards for information reliability at the international level
At the World Government Summit in Dubai, Turkmenistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov called for the introduction of unified standards for information reliability and the establishment of common tools for its verification in the process of developing national and global policies. This was reported by the press service of the republic's foreign affairs ministry. "We consider it necessary to develop universal standards for information reliability and establish common mechanisms for its verification during the preparation and implementation of state and international policies," Meredov stated. The Minister emphasized that reliable and verified information, as well as systems for its processing and forecasting, serve as the foundation for any managerial and partnership decisions. "Such approaches would contribute to strengthening mutual trust between partners, ensuring consistency in decision-making, and enhancing state responsibility for the use of digital technologies, including artificial intelligence," the head of the foreign affairs ministry explained. R. Meredov noted that the effectiveness of joint work is measured by the ability to translate proposals into practice. As an example, he cited Turkmen initiatives in the field of sustainable transport, which found real reflection at the UN level. "In December 2025, the UN General Assembly proclaimed the Decade of Sustainable Transport for the period 2026-2035, establishing the Sustainable Transport Atlas as a roadmap and monitoring tool for achieving the decade's goals," the Minister recalled. "This example demonstrates that partnership built on trust, openness, and clear priorities can deliver tangible global results," Meredov concluded. According to him, in the modern world, leadership and alliances are defined not by the desire to dominate, but by the ability to anticipate developments, strengthen mutual trust, and ensure compliance with agreed norms.
