Turkmenistan at the UN Alliance of Civilizations Forum

Official news
A Turkmen delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister Akhmet Gurbanov participated in the 11th Global Forum of the UN Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) in Riyadh, as reported by Turkmenistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The event was held under the theme "UNAOC: Twenty Years of Dialogue for Humanity: Building a New Era of Mutual Respect and Understanding in a Multipolar World." The forum brought together government delegates, youth and women's movement leaders, representatives of civil society organizations, and media from various countries to discuss ways to strengthen global peace and develop intercultural ties. Speaking at the forum, Akhmet Gurbanov noted the growing role of the UN Alliance of Civilizations during a period of trust crisis and increasing disagreements on the international stage. He pointed out the alignment between UNAOC's work and Turkmenistan's initiative to declare 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust. In this regard, he outlined Turkmenistan's proposals for joint work with the UN Alliance of Civilizations, including the development of a culture of peace and mediation, expansion of humanitarian and intercultural dialogue, creation of regional and youth platforms for peacebuilding cooperation, as well as strengthening trust and mutual understanding among peoples, the ministry reported.
